Reserve Your Spot for the Site Visits in Nyköping and Forsmark

As part of the NNF26 program, the Nordic Nuclear Forum delegates will have the opportunity to join a technical site visit to nuclear facilities of interest, Forsmark or Nyköping, on 28 May 2026. Both options will be full-day visits including transportation and lunch, and will provide participants with the opportunity to visit and learn more about nuclear facilities in the respective regions. NNF26 site visits are organized in collaboration with NuclearSweden.

Option A Nyköping region

The history of the Studsvik Site dates back to the early 1950s as part of Sweden’s Nuclear Program. Today the site hosts the three companies Studsvik AB, Cyclife Sweden AB and AB SVAFO, each one serving both Swedish and International Nuclear Sector with expert knowledge, laboratory services, and various back-end solutions. During the site visit you will get an overview presentation by the participating companies and will visit 2-3 of the facilities and laboratories in smaller groups.

11:30-12:30 Lunch

Option B Forsmark region

This option includes a visit to the Forsmark nuclear power plant visitor center and to the KSU training center. It offers a unique opportunity to see firsthand one of the largest producers of electrical power in Sweden and the associated ecosystem with a special focus on modern personnel training. Forsmark is the most recently built nuclear power plant in Sweden – the three reactors were all commissioned between 1980 and 1985. The total power output is approximately 3,270 MW with an annual production of about 25 TWh, providing a sixth of all electricity used in Sweden. KSU, established in 1972, has been training the operations and maintenance personnel who work at Swedish nuclear power plants. KSU contributes to the efforts of ensuring better reliability in operations by exchanging experiences from the operations of Nordic nuclear power plants.
