Did you know that there will be multiple interesting events for nuclear professionals taking place in Helsinki during the week of Nordic Nuclear Forum?
Finland is one of the best places to visit during the summer time – the Sun practically never sets in June so you have more hours of light for business and leisure at your disposal. Don’t get me wrong though, sleep is essential for your health and wellbeing. As a reader of this, however, you have every good reason to mark your calendar and plan your trip to Helsinki next June.
What’s happening in Helsinki 7-11 June 2021?
We’ve gathered the important events in this post to help you make the decision on which event you should register. Organizers have joined the forces to bring you the best experience regardless of the decision you’ll make. We’re having a joint opening session during the morning of 8 June 2021 at Finlandia Hall for the following three events.
- Nordic Nuclear Forum (NNF) 2021 conference, organized by FinNuclear with national partners – Fennovoima, Fortum, STUK International, TVO, VTT and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland
- The 6th International Conference on Geological Repositories (ICGR), organized by OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland
- #NuclearEurope conference, organized by FORATOM
Nordic Nuclear Forum
Nordic Nuclear Forum (NNF) conference is a forward looking event for all professionals involved in the nuclear industry. We bring a wide profile of audience together – the businesses, engineers, innovators, communicators, government officials and even regulatory bodies – to talk about sustainable nuclear energy, the latest developments, and its future. As a venue of the NNF conference as well as the free-admission exhibition, Finlandia Hall will be the central meeting point for all delegates of events mentioned in this post.
ICGR
International Conference on Geological Repositories (ICGR) takes place for the sixth time. Finland is honored to be the national host this time as we are leading the way with the final repository construction at Olkiluoto. There is a lot of accumulated knowledge, competence and experience worth sharing internationally with researchers and scientific experts of the topic.
Events by FORATOM
#NuclearEurope is an annual conference organized by FORATOM, the voice of the European nuclear industry in energy policy discussions. Senior representatives from the different EU institutions, industry and relevant EU stakeholders gather to discuss EU policies which are currently of significant relevance to the European nuclear industry as a whole. In addition, the 16th IAEA-FORATOM joint event on Management Systems is organized by FORATOM during the same week.
For risk analysis specialists, the Society for Risk Analysis – Europe (SRA-E) conference takes place in the following week of Nordic Nuclear Forum in Espoo, a neighboring city of Helsinki.
