Christer Dahlgren

Chief Consulting Engineer, GE Vernova Hitachi

Born and raised in Sweden, moved to the US in 1995. Graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden with a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1995. Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1999. Worked at Palisades Nuclear Plant in various roles, including safety analyses engineering, on shift SRO, work control center manager, and shift supervisor. Joined GE Vernova Hithachi (GVH) engineering team in 2008. Supported various power uprates, new plant proposals and new plant design projects for both light water and sodium reactors. Co-inventor and the principal designer of the BWRX-300 since 2017/2018. Currently a chief engineer for power plant design at GVH. Recipient of the 2026 Swedish Nuclear Society Honorary Award.
