Åsa Carlson serves as Managing Director of Barsebäck Kraft AB, leading Sweden’s first full‑scale nuclear decommissioning project at the Barsebäck Nuclear Plant. The project is a core element of Uniper’s Decommissioning Programme, covering in total four reactors in Barsebäck and Oskarshamn. Under her leadership, Barsebäck has become a national lighthouse initiative, built on strong stakeholder trust, effective collaboration, and a successful shift from planning to execution.
Now five years in, the project remains on schedule and on budget, with a clear path toward finalization and buildings ready for demolition clearance in 2028—setting a benchmark for Swedish and international decommissioning.
Åsa brings over 25 years of experience in nuclear new build, operations, and decommissioning, holding senior roles across both license holder and owner organisations.
