Professor Dr. Klaus Fischer-Appelt is the head of the chair of Repository Safety at RWTH Aachen University, appointed in 2021.

He has had an extensive career of over 20 years in the radioactive waste repository research at GRS, a research company (gGmbH) in Germany. Now at the chair of Repository Safety, Dr. Fischer-Appelt is contributing to educating young scientists and establishing RWTH Aachen University in a leading role in the field of repository research. He is currently busy launching the new Master’s study programme.
