Herkko Plit
Mr. Herkko Plit has a solid knowledge on the European nuclear industry and the construction of financially significant nuclear projects. Plit has worked as the Deputy Director General at the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Energy Department. At the Ministry, he was responsible for nuclear energy and fossil fuels. Plit has acted as TVO´s responsible director for the construction of Olkiluoto 3 nuclear project, served as the CEO of the engineering company Fortum Nuclear Services and as the General Manager of Fortum Corporation´s Expert solutions business unit. Plit was also the CEO of Baltic Connector Oy, a company that constructed the offshore natural gas pipeline Balticconnector between Finland and Estonia and opened the Finnish gas market.
Currently Plit acts as the founder and CEO of P2X Solutions Oy, a forerunner in the Finnish hydrogen and e-fuel industry. The company is constructing Finland’s first industrial scale (20 MW) green hydrogen production plant in Harjavalta, to be operational in 2024. In addition, Plit is the Chair of World Energy Council ‘WEC’ Finland and board member of publicly listed Enersense International Oyj.
