Gary Rose
Gary Rose has worked for Ontario Power Generation for close to 35 years. Gary is currently the Vice President of New Nuclear Growth at Ontario Power Generation. In this capacity, Gary is responsible for the development of opportunities to deploy New Nuclear in Ontario while working with other jurisdictions in Canada and internationally to develop opportunities for nuclear expansion.
Gary is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University. He is a graduate of Rotman’s Director Education Program and a certified Corporate Director (ICD.D).
Prior to this role, Gary’s career spans a number of progressive management roles in Corporate Finance and, for the past 22 years, in major nuclear projects, including senior roles on the Pickering A Return to Service Project and the $12.8 Billion Darlington Refurbishment Program where he was the vice president of Planning and Project Controls and as Deputy Vice President Execution; contributed to the in-service of Unit 2 in June 2020.
Gary is a continuous advocate for Project Management and Project Controls application in all projects being executed at OPG and often provides his counsel to industry and partner groups alike. Gary has served on the Product Review Board for the Construction Industry Institute. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute and holds a PMP certification and a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEi).
Gary is currently the Vice Chair of the Durham College Board of Governors and sits on the Project Management Program Advisory Committee. He previously served on the Whitby Public Library Board for close to 9 years including the role as Vice Chair and Chair.
