Christopher Nitta, Manufacturing Manager, leads the strategic supply chain development and preparations for manufacturing the equipment required to deliver a NuScale Plant.  In this role, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers while developing an overall strategy for the supply chains for the NSSS and critical refueling and remote handling equipment.

 Prior to joining NuScale, Nitta served as the Manager of Plant Engineering at Salem Nuclear Generating Station, where he was responsible for the strategic and tactical engineering response for two operating PWRs.  Nitta previously held roles for the US Naval Sea Systems Command as a Program Manager for major propulsion equipment and as a Nuclear Engineer.

Nitta holds a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering Systems from the US Merchant Marine Academy, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
