Ville Sahlberg is Technology Manager at Helen Ltd, the main district heating provider of the Finnish capital. Nuclear district heating is one of the potential solutions on his table among future heat production technologies.

Before joining Helen’s energy system development group, Sahlberg worked towards enabling SMRs in Finland at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The work included analyses of different end uses for SMRs and significant contributions towards the forming of the Finnish business ecosystem for small modular reactors.

Sahlberg holds Master’s degree on Advanced Energy Sciences from Aalto University.

In addition to his work on decarbonizing heating, Sahlberg is a founding member of the Future Energy Leaders Finland program under World Energy Council Finland.
