Having joined the EDF Group initially as an R&D engineer in 1999 in the context of energy market deregulation across Europe, V. Ramany progressively developed a thorough expertise of all techno-economical aspects driving the electricity business through various leading roles in generation mix management, market risk management and customer portfolio management. In 2008, V. Ramany joined the EDF Group CFO’s office to support the company’s endeavors to grow its international business, notably working on major acquisitions, including that of the British nuclear power generation fleet by EDF. In 2011, V. Ramany moved to the UK arm of EDF in London as M&A and Investments Director. As such he led the efforts of the Group to honor its major commitments to the European Commission following the acquisition of British Energy, initiated the refinancing strategy of EDF’s UK renewable business and has been a leading contributor to securing funding for the 3200MW Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project in the UK. Since 2015 V. Ramany leads the international new nuclear development activities for the EDF Group, encompassing the development of new nuclear projects, of international strategic cooperations in the nuclear domain and of export nuclear technologies.

Ramany graduated from the Engineering School of Aeronautics and Space, Toulouse, France, and holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
