Mikael Moring is a Senior Inspector in the Nuclear Materials Safeguards section at the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK). His career at STUK spans over 30 years, with more than 15 years’ experience in Nuclear Safeguards, ranging from practical inspection activities to planning how to implement effective and efficient nuclear safeguards at the Geological Repository for spent nuclear fuel in Finland.

In addition to Safeguards, Mikael has more than 20 years involvement with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), during which he started the operations of the Finnish CTBT Certified Laboratory and later has been running the Finnish National Data Center for the CTBT.

Mikael has a M.Sc. in Nuclear Physics and he started his career at STUK as a researcher with specialization in gamma laboratory measurements.
